Are you finding it difficult to recruit affiliates for your particular program or opportunity? If so, one method you should consider in attracting them is having your affiliate program posted in as many directories as possible. These directories usually won’t cost you anything to have your program listed, but there are certain guidelines you’ll have to meet.
Currently there are about 40 or so directories where you can post your affiliate program, in your attempt to locate those affiliates that’ll promote your opportunity. Also, be sure your program is posted under the correct category for your program.
Directories
Keep in mind that many directories won’t list affiliate programs having anything to do with adult content or gambling, so it would be a waste of your time and effort to even attempt to list it.
Affiliate programs that pay on more than 2 levels, are a red flag to getting listed in the directories, and is something that should be avoided. Now let’s look at some other issues for recruiting affiliates.
Getting Listed Tips
Before you submit your particular affiliate program to the directories, make certain you’ve first met any and all the requirements they’ve established for acceptance. You want this process to be as smooth and comfortable as possible, so be sure you’re prepared. After you’ve submitted your requests to be listed, your requests will then be reviewed by the editors of each directory you’ve applied to. Here are some factors to keep in mind as you begin this process.
Before you submit your request make sure that your program is ready. Ensure that the sign-up page is working and that the sales are being logged. Check your pages for any spelling or grammatical errors, and make sure that your logos and banners are visible.
Your website should contain such information as: a description about your product and/or service, the terms and conditions of your program, an explanation of how commissions are earned, and finally, a link to your home page. Make sure these areas are in order before you attempt to recruit affiliates.
Listing your affiliate program under the right category is of prime importance, if you’re going to be successful in recruiting them to promote your opportunity. Be sure you’ve chosen the most appropriate category for what you’re offering.
Along with your request to have your program listed within the directories, you must also be prepared to submit your destination URL, your program description and commission structure. This information is of vital importance for acceptance.
Make sure you’ve chosen the correct keywords for your program.
Getting your program listed in the various affiliate directories, will indeed go a long way towards helping you to recruit more affiliates. However, getting your program listed under the most appropriate category for your particular program, will have you recruiting more affiliates than you can possible handle.
